I spent my childhood in Alaska.
It was cold.
Then, I moved to Texas.
Which had more snakes and fewer bears.
I stayed in Texas to go to college.
Then I went to Chicago for more college.
Then I made a terrible mistake,
I graduated.
With an MFA.
And I realized that I wanted to be paid for being creative.
So, I went into advertising.
And even though I'm dyslexic, I chose to be a copywriter.
This was another horrible mistake.
I have a proud love for every copywriter I've known.
But we take up a lot of space with our moody eye-rolling
and slouching sighs.
But we deeply care about what we do.
And those we do it with.
I've been fortunate to work with some of the best people.
And from them I've learned just how much
there still is to learn.
